The Rising Trolling Against Arjun Kapoor
Recently, Arjun Kapoor has been facing an overwhelming amount of trolling on social media. From memes to harsh comments, people seem to enjoy criticizing him. But the real question is — does he really deserve this level of hate?
A Painful Childhood and Family Struggles

Arjun Kapoor’s childhood was far from easy. When he was just 11 years old, his father, Boney Kapoor, married actress Sridevi, leaving his mother, Mona Shourie, to raise Arjun and his sister alone. This sudden change in his family deeply affected him.

In several interviews, Arjun has admitted that during his school days, classmates used to mock him by taking Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s names, making him feel humiliated and bullied. These constant taunts left a long-lasting emotional impact on him.
Struggles With Weight and Bullying

As a child and teenager, Arjun also struggled with obesity. At one point, he weighed more than 140 kgs. This made him an easy target for body-shaming and bullying. But instead of giving up, Arjun worked tirelessly on his fitness and transformed himself completely before stepping into Bollywood.
Arjun’s Bollywood Journey
Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut with “Ishaqzaade” (2012), which was a commercial success and also earned him critical praise. Over the years, he appeared in both hit and average films. While it’s true that in recent years, his movies haven’t performed very well at the box office, it would be unfair to say that Arjun has only delivered bad performances.
Movies like 2 States, Ki & Ka, and Half Girlfriend showed that Arjun could hold his ground as a lead actor. His performances might not always have been extraordinary, but they were never as poor as the trolling community makes them out to be.
Why Does He Get Trolled So Much?
Part of the trolling comes from Arjun’s public image. At times, his statements to paparazzi or comments on social media have been misunderstood or criticized, which fueled more negativity against him. However, judging an actor only based on a few remarks while ignoring his past struggles is unfair.
A Journey of Resilience
Arjun Kapoor’s life is an example of resilience. From a broken family, childhood bullying, and obesity struggles to making a place for himself in Bollywood — his story is not of privilege alone, but also of personal battles.
Yes, some of his career choices may not have worked out, and yes, he may have said things that weren’t taken well. But should that erase the struggles and pain he has overcome? Absolutely not.
The Real Question
Instead of constant trolling, maybe it’s time to see Arjun Kapoor as a human being who fought against bullying, body-shaming, family trauma, and personal struggles to reach where he is today.
Arjun Kapoor doesn’t deserve relentless hate. He deserves at least a little empathy.
